GOLDCAR is a Spanish car rental business with more than 105 offices at tourist destinations and airports worldwide.  Their fleet includes economy, compact, family cars, people carriers and electric vehicles. They offer a key collection service to speed up the process of collecting your car, and they also have a mobile app that allows you to open the car automatically on some vehicles. GOLDCAR received a 2-star rating on Trustpilot with some customers mentioning being charged for extra insurance they did not request. The Guardian also reported the story of a Goldcar customer being made to purchase additional insurance.  On other comparison sites  the company is way down the list at fourteenth best out of the rental companies based at the airport.

What insurance is included?

Basic insurance cover consists of third-party liability insurance and collision damage waiver. There is an excess with this cover, and a deposit is also required.

What additional cover is there?

The Super Relax Cover includes roadside assistance. The Mega Relax Cover also includes Premium Roadside Assistance.  If you purchase either of these options, there is no excess and you do not need to leave a deposit.

What extras are available?

GPS, additional driver, baby seat, toddler seat, child seat Luggage racks are not allowed. 

Are there any restrictions?

The minimum driver age is 19.  Drivers between 19 and 24 must pay a young driver fee. Drivers over the age of 70 must pay a senior driver fee. All drivers must have held a driving licence for at least 12 months.
